GRE STRUCTURE

The GRE General Test consists of three main sections: Verbal Reasoning, Quantitative Reasoning, and Analytical Writing Assessment (AWA). Each section is designed to measure different academic skills. The Verbal Reasoning section includes Reading Comprehension, Text Completion, and Sentence Equivalence questions. This section evaluates your ability to understand and analyze written material and your command of vocabulary. The Quantitative Reasoning section focuses on basic mathematical concepts such as arithmetic, algebra, geometry, and data interpretation. It tests logical reasoning and problem-solving skills rather than advanced mathematics. The Analytical Writing section consists of two tasks: the Issue Task and the Argument Task. In this section, candidates are required to write essays that demonstrate their ability to think critically and express ideas clearly. The GRE follows a section-level adaptive format. This means the difficulty of the second section depends on your performance in the first section. Time management and consistency are key to performing well.
